Shining Peel is a specialized fractional technology with a laser peel technique for fine wrinkles, large pores and skin rejuvenation. It delivers controllable thermal energy which ensures no topical anesthesia is needed prior to treatment as there is less patient discomfort, reduced treatment times and less patient downtime. This gentle peeling technique stimulates collagen remodelling by delivering precise amounts of laser energy to the skin without immediate ablation of the epidermis. Shining Peel also decreases the chance of PIH since the outside layer of the skin is kept intact during treatment; the outer epidermal layer will gradually flake off, revitalizing the youthful appearance of skin as well as add that real glow to the skin.

Is the Shining Peel laser treatment painful?

The treatment is well tolerated by most patients without any form of local anaesthetic. Most patients describe a momentarily form of heat on the skin when being treated. A topical anaesthetic may be used if required.

Can people with different skin tones/colours be treated with the Shining Peel Laser Treatment?

Yes, the Shining Peel laser works on almost all skin types including tanned or darker skin tones.

After the Treatment

When can I see results with the Shining Peel laser treatment?
The results of treatment are both immediate and progressive. After initial redness has subsided, patients will typically experience flaky skin within the next 3 days before you see significantly improved skin tone, color and texture after the first treatment.

What is the recovery period following a treatment?

Depending on your skin’s natural healing process and the intensity of the treatment, each patient’s recovery period varies. Generally, immediately after treatment, you will observe a certain degree of redness, which will subside after a few hours. However, skin will be temporarily flaky for the next 3-5 days. It is also extremely important to protect your skin through the use of a non-chemical sun protection (SPF 30 or higher) after a treatment.
